General Scope of Project
In 2006, Coastal Medical Group, one of the largest physician-owned health care providers in Rhode Island, commissioned n|e|m|d architects, inc. to design a new “signature office building” for them on a highly visible site, just off Route 195 in East Providence. n|e|m|d met this challenge by crafting an innovative structure that juxtaposes transparent glass curtain walls with solid brick and stone sections, effectively reducing the visual scale of each building façade by dividing it in two. This four-story, 50,000 SF facility houses offices specializing in primary care, pediatrics, imaging, cardiology, women’s health, and neurology.
