General Scope of Project
Lifespan Physician Group contracted with n|e|m|d in 2019 to develop a standardized model for a tech-forward, patient-centric Urgent Care center. n|e|m|d worked closely with a core design team to determine the healthcare provider’s priorities for patient care in this new model. Important goals included delivering a sense of transparency to the patient experience, providing on-line appointments and kiosk check-in, and streamlining care. To implement these goals, the final design includes embedded technology, electrochromic glass partitions, large glass sliding doors at exam rooms, mobile x-ray and close visual and physical connection between check-in, waiting and the providers area. The design also includes a compact footprint, contemporary finishes and hospitality oriented amenities. The Rhode Island based provider plans to open nine facilities throughout the state.
